LITTLE & BIG MERMAIDS up on the famous NORTH SHORE of OAHU. In Hawaii, surfer training starts young. Our little mermaid was 3 years old.

The Big Mermaids in the lower pic are on SUNSET BEACH during the world surfing championships that draw surfers worldwide to surf on waves that go up to 30 feet tall. Just a few hundred yards down the beach is BONZAI BEACH, also known as PIPELINE BEACH because the surfer is inside a big tube of a wave known as being inside a pipe. Not for amateurs!
